Greetings, sleaze junkies and trash aficionados. Welcome to yet another hilarious installment of your favorite cult movie podcast.It's a big one too, as this week we celebrate our TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY! And what better way to ring in the terrible twos than to recall our top 5 and bottom 5 movies of the last year of JFD and then serve up three of our all-time favorite 80's cult classics!
Up first, we reminisce and crack up over the utterly brilliant, utterly bizarre, utterly hilarious "Weird Al" Yankovic vehicle UHF from 1989. Al and a cast of colorful characters (Victoria Jackson, Kevin McCarthy, Michael Richards, Fran Drescher, etc, etc) bring an endless barrage of off-the-wall jokes that will split your sides, whether you're 13 or 30.
Then, when a group of teenage mall employees decide to party at the mall after hours, they quickly realize that the new robotic security system isn't fucking around, in the 1986 horror comedy Chopping Mall, directed by Jim Wynorski and starring Kelli Maroney and Tony O'Dell with cameos by Paul Bartel, Mary Woronov and Dick Miller.
And finally, Kurt Russell and John Carpenter team up yet again for a fast-paced, mystical martial arts adventure in the seedy underbelly of China Town, featuring black magic, strange creatures and endless chase scenes in Big Trouble in Little China, also from 1986.
All this plus witty banter between friends, glitchy Skype noise, Hüsker Dü jams, soundboard antics, gushing, Junk Mail,the announcement of our 300th movie and so much more!
