This week as Parker is off celebrating his birthday, Kevin and Sean are joined by Jules from the When it All Comes Down podcast to look at 3 films from this year.

First, a wolf expert is hired to find a missing child in the Alaskan wilderness but find much more is afoot in the new straight-to-Netflix Jeremy Saulnier film Hold the Dark.

Then, a personal assistant (Lola Kirke) to a Hollywood starlet (Zoë Kravitz) gets wrapped up in a bizzare murder mystery in Gemini.

And finally, a group of horror fans go on a camping retreat meant to scare you, but things end up getting deadly for real in Shudder original Ruin Me.

All this plus witty banter between friends, eggnog chat, a call from Justin, Nerd News, blu-rays and so much more.

JFD445: Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, A Smoky Mountain Christmas, Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys

It's Christmas at the JFD offices, and somebody's spiked the eggnog. Our picks are getting mixed up and our signals are getting crossed. How'd we end up with this trio of TV movies, you ask? Get ready for a holiday-themed podcasting experience like none other!

Up first! It's a classic undersung gem of holiday muppetry: Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas from 1977! It's supposedly the tale of an otter and his poor single mother, but everybody knows it's really about that wild snake and his rock and roll band.

Next up! It's 1986's A Smoky Mountain Christmas, which as you would expect is of course a made for TV movie starring Dolly Parton, Dan Hedeya, and Lee Majors. Oh, and it's got a Mountain Man (played by Lee Majors).

Finally! It's a third movie: Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys, which does qualify as a movie technically, and did see the light of day in 2004. It's a non-canonical (surprise!) entrant into the series of puppet-based horror films. This time: it's Christmas. Also: they got the Feldman. And we gotta deal with it.

All this plus A Classic X-mas Mixup, Sean watches movies nobody cares about, Parker watches movies everyone hates, Kevin watches Gremlins, an interesting amount of unidentified background noise, reasonable rates on calls to the North Pole, did anyone Freado a pick this year?, Little Nemo related memories, Parker sounds like he might have a cold (based on sneezes), a surprising amount of Brexit support, Parker is blocked by Edgar Wright on Twitter, the magic is still real for some of us, Kevin drops the phrase "technical muppetry" with little to no fanfare, a Smoky Mountain No-No, our weekly news & Blu-ray Picks, what even is a Skype?, no mention of ride-giving, holiday beats and a whole lot more!

We're celebrating our 1,300th movie reviewed on the show with an audio commentary voted on by the Junkies!

We're doing Tourist Trap from 1979! David Schmoeller directs this tale of wild teenagers stuck in rural Texas ... or California? Or maybe Arkansas? ... at a tourist trap full of creepy mannequins and even creepier Civil War stuff!

Cue up your copy of the film and watch the movie along with us! Count the Puppet Master references by taking shots!

We may live in even more horrible times, but your JFD boys have you covered in terms of retroactively produced podcast content, at least for this week. Bust out your enthusiasm generators yet again, because it's time, sadly, for another clip show to help you forget about the year that was! And this time, none of the content is legally ours to distribute!

So it's come to this again: yet another Junk Food Dinner clip show. This week on Junk Food Dinner Rewind: a carefully curated collection of bootlegged podcasting audio. And don't worry - it's got barely any original content, and you won't feel even slightly guilty having skipped it. In fact, you're better off pretending this never happened.

All this plus witty banter between friends, witty banter between Freados, zero Nerd Newsies, no week's DVD & blu-ray releases, absolute confidentiality, continued lack of police involvement, robot voices, musical interludes, sneezes, belches, gleeks and a little bit more!

JFD448: Squalor Motel, Babyface 2, Sex and the Single Alien

What kinda pornos are we watching in here? Who are you, Kevin's neighbor? Well, it's Happy Nude Year this week on the podcast, so please afford us this plausible excuse for all the pornography we're watching. We promise to ask Jesus for mercy.

Up first! It's a classic undersung gem of sleazoid porno: Kim Christy's Squalor Motel from 1985! Colleen Brennan, Desiree Lane, Tantala Ray and Jamie Gillis (among others) feature in this new-wave/punk-rock/rinse-dream-y tale of bound pig fuckers in a Reptile Room at a rancid roadside flophouse. Be glad you didn't stumble on this one as a kid, so you can enjoy it more fully and responsibly as an adult.

Next up! It's 1986's Babyface 2, an Alex De Renzy sequel to his own 1977 golden age porno, a celebration of youthful exuberance, and boobs. Lois Ayres, Kristara Barrington, Jerry Butler, Tom Byron and friends star in this freewheeling hardcore feature until Jamie Gillis (yet again) pops up to turn a living room into a Poltergeist house. It's a fun, weird time.

Finally! It's a third movie: Sex and the Single Alien, which does qualify as a movie technically, and did see the light of day in 1993. It's a non-sexual (surprise!) entrant into the genre of alien-based features with minimal/no aliens on-screen. This time: there's a strip club. If you're hankering for an Up All Night vibe, you've probably put up with worse.

All this plus watchin' pornos in certain circles, what kinda Nerd News y'all talkin' about in there?, Parker's hot tumblr takes, everyone's continued strong feelings about the new Suspiria, automatic fleshlight dystopias, even more candid praise for the longboys of Mississippi, triple x blue movie, Kevin loves Letterboxd (and hates us), Kevin reads The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin shows interest in a brutal hardcore roughie, Zip-a-dee-deadpool, Sean slanders Disney again, nihilistic trash, our plan to sue Amazon, our weekly news & Blu-ray Picks, what even is a Skype?, no mention of ride-giving, the sexiest beats and a whole lot more!

We've got three movies picked by our Patreon buddies this week!

First, after a man is released from prison, he gets revenge on the racist cracker cops that put him there in the Jamaa Fanaka flick "Welcome Home, Brother Charles" from 1975.

Next, a couple of fed-up and bored foxes go on a crime spree, robbing banks across the south in "The Great Texas Dynamite Chase" from 1976.

Finally, director Hal Needham sends us an angel with the 1986 pop culture explosion about BMX bikers striving for greatness: "Rad."

All this plus Kevin goes balls out, Parker is very upset about parades but very happy about computers, DVDs, Nerd News, Voicemails, Sweetman and so much more!

It's ass kickin' time, kids. We close out the month by celebrating Jackie Chan-uary and watching three flicks from three distinct eras from the greatest stuntman of all time!

Up first, Jackie Chan makes his directorial debut with The Fearless Hyena from 1979. This classic wuxia flick has Jackie in prime physical shape and really hamming it up as a goofball trying to avenge the murder of his grandfather.

Next, we examine one of Chan's big-budget Hong Kong action flicks, Armour of God from 1986. Here we get not only great martial arts, but insane stunt work both on foot and by car. Jackie is forced to infiltrate a cult of horny monks in order to save his ex-girlfriend all while trying to recover the missing pieces of an ancient suit of armor.

And finally, we take a look at The Medallion form 2003. This US/Chinese co-production find Jackie working with Interpol to recover a mysterious young boy who has been kidnapped. Chan finds the boy but is killed in the process, but is brought back to life by the boy and his magical medallion to settle the score as an invincible ghost.

All this plus witty banter between friends, Cruise News, Bauhaus shirts on New Kids, Junk Mail, Nerd News about Invisible Men, Blu-rays from hell and so much more.

JFD451: Unbreakable, Split, Glass

If you've survived the Polar Vortex, there's only one possible explanation: your burning desire to hear your charming JFD hosts chat about these three M. Night Shyamalan films has kept you just toasty warm enough for your heart to keep beating. And we've got good news for you, living being: your avoidance of death was well worth it this week. This ep's a doozy.

Up first! Way back in the pre-9/11 days of yore, a young man named M. Night Shyamalan crafted a superhero feature unlike most before it, a little film that would be come to be known as Unbreakable from 2000! Bruce Willies survives a wild train crash (with nary a scratch), which puts him in the sights of a mysterious (EVIL?!) stranger played by Samuel L. Jackson.

Next up! It's 2016's Split, as directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It's not the other movie called Split from the same year or the year after or before. Make sure you're on the same page as us here. We're talking about the one where James McAvoy kidnaps a few young women and it turns out he's got a bunch of multiple/split personalities, each more terrifying than the next (except for some of them). Be sure that's the Split you've got in mind when you pop this podcast episode into your hi-fi.

Finally! It's a third movie: Glass, which is literally still in theatres right now today as I write this, if you can even believe it. This is M. Night Shyamalan's thrilling conclusion to the loose trilogy formed by the above two features, and it features Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and James McAvoy, all together on-screen at once in the meeting of the minds that all filmgoing audiences have been begging for with bated breath.

All this plus watchin' Glassmen in certain circles, super fun fly facts (or was it superfly fun facts?), the names and identities of who picked the movies for the show this week, are these movies even sci-fi?, some movie website called Letterboxd that Kevin ain't even heard of yet, "now who's old?", Eurocentric ethnotypes, a non-negative quantity of audio drops, Parker gets actually heated at Sean in the junkmails segment, RIP Dick Miller, a Seinlanguage shout-out, does Kevin Make An Appearance?, automatic lipstick mechanisms, Sean learns his lesson again about the terrors of filmgoing at the AMC Monterey Park location, mental health TED talks, our weekly news but zero Blu-ray Picks, what even is a Skype?, no mention of ride-giving, crunkle-junked beats and a whole lot more!

Sci-Fi-Ebruary rolls along in this, and every, dimension with three flicks chosen by our buddies on Patreon.

First, due to some cosmic bullshit, ants get really, really smart and the only thing stopping them from taking over the world is some British dude and some other dude in 1974's "Phase IV," directed by Saul Bass.

Next, Brit Marling stars as would-be future scientist who's life is derailed during a drunk driving accident. To make matters worse, a whole new planet has suddenly emerged in 2011's "Another Earth."

Finally, a mentally ill man kidnaps a businessman he thinks is actually an alien mastermind in the South Korean flick, "Save the Green Planet" from 2003.

All this plus Nerd News, DVDs, a sweet Sweetman song, Karaszewski sightings, Sleepy Moss, other voicemails, a JFD roadtrip, the Insane Kevin Posse and so so so much more!

JFD's March Movie Schedule!

Where does the time go?

We're celebrating going into 10 motherfucking years of JFD this month. This is probably the longest any of us have ever done anything in our lives.

And speaking for myself, I wouldn't have wanted to spend a decade of my life talking about good movies, bad movies, Corey Feldman movies, ghoul movies or Eastern European art movies with anyone other than these four JFD co-hosts. Kevin, Sean, Mark and Rusty are four dudes I've experienced the best of times with (the time we all watched "Blow Out") and the worst of times with (the times we watched "Slaughtered Vomit Dolls"). They're four of the best dudes I have ever known and it's been an honor and a pleasure to be subjected to the gamut of human art and emotion with them.

And I also want to thank anyone who's ever listened. Especially if you're from some country I've never been to or a town I've never heard of (even British ones). It's still weird to me that anyone would want to listen to us talk about sliced thumb or engage in Face to Face Chat or discuss who is or isn't the rats of humans and it blows my mind that these things have connected us with folks in a way that only we know about. It's like a secret club where you whisper, "Are you gonna be a butthole or are you going to let me drink" and someone slides open a velvet curtain and welcomes you.

Here's to the 10th year of JFD!

There is nothing wrong with your smartphone. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery of Sci-Fi-ebruary which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits.

This week, we dive into three classic episodes from the black & white, creature-heavy science fiction television show that brought monsters and aliens into American homes in the 1960's.

Up first, a scientist experiments on a man in an effort to speed up evolution with unexpected results in The Sixth Finger from 1963.

Then, a race of bug-like aliens decide to dispose of their undesirables on planet Earth in The Zanti Misfits also from 1963.

And finally, the crew of an expedition to another planet begins to plot against the mind-reading, bug-eyed captain (played by Warren Oates!) in The Mutant from 1964.

All this plus witty banter between friends, roller coasters chat, $40 VHS mystery packs, the end of blu-ray players?, Kung-Fu Hustle love, this week's blu-rays and so much more.

JFD454: Forbidden Planet, Dr. Goldfoot and Bikini Machine, Brain 17

The only logical conclusion to our thrilling month of Science Fiction based podcasting is precisely what will be delivered to you this week, in the form of this: a Robot Theme Show. Let's get metallic!

Up first! Way back in the pre-9/11 days of yore, there was a movie called Forbidden Planet from 1956. It had a Brown-haired Leslie Nielsen, and strange sexual politics, and you were there, and you were there, and you were there...

Next up! It's 1965's Dr. Goldfoot and Bikini Machine, a movie with a title so implausible only AIP could've produced it. And would you believe that your charming hosts argue about whether or not it's a sci-fi film? Feat Vinnie Price, Frank Avalon, babes.

Finally! It's a third movie: Brain 17, which probably you ain't heard of, but maybe you've heard of it's bigger brother Daitetsujin 17. This 1982 feature is a recut of an earlier 1977 Toei-produced TV series, and features a whole horde of cheaply made Japanese giant robots tripping over themselves/cities. Who are the real monsters? It might be the dub voice actors.

All this plus Parker's journalistic prowess reaps rewards, Sean stereotypes the local Japanese population, Parker's computer makes Windows sounds on the recording now and there's nothing on earth that can stop it, a really wild amount of dishwashing ambience, yet another one of those nights where Sean contemplates how he's wasted his life, more good recommendations from The Fallen One, seriously there's a whole ambient noise backstory going on in this episode and the entire plotline of it is centered around pot-scrubbing, an animated series based on your favorite Mogwai-based horror franchise, Feldmanspotting, should Gene Simmons fornicate a replicant in an arena?, Parker makes a home video selection blunder that leads to a classic disrespect situation, Kevin calls a movie a Drive-In Classic, for sure something is getting broken in the background noise there - like a window maybe - who knows?, Sean gets two movies mixed up in his mind, more mouse clicking noises than normal from reasons that remain largely mysterious, the insane outer-space sexual politics (of outer space!), restrictive pornography laws aboard space-cruises for space-men, Parker declares a movie should be 10 to 15 minutes shorter, shoe-horned garage-rock black-face bands, Parker Bowman falls in love with Frankie Avalon, teen wolf has nards, "suddenly: one year later", fake spy beards, our weekly news plus Blu-ray Picks and a whole lot more!

Grab a pack of Lucky Strikes and a stiff drink. It's Noir Week -- Niorch Week, to be exact.

First, two gun-obsessed lovers go on a crime spree after meeting at the circus -- as you do -- in "Gun Crazy" from 1950.

Next, Humphrey Bogart is a angry, jaded writer who's accused of murder and only the love of a brassy dame can fix him. Or can it? "In a Lonely Place" from 1950.

Finally, a Harlem robbery leads to a falling house of cards and a bunch of racism-filled murder sprees in "Across 110th Street" from 1972.

All this plus Nerd News, Voice Mails, DVDs, will Parker boycott Captain Marvel? How sleepy is Kevin exactly? And who among us is guilty of Freado picking?

Junk Food Dinner gets zany this week with three goofy comedies picked by our Dom Deluise Patreon Donors!

Up first, Tom Hanks plays a slacker about to get married to rich girl Tawny Kitaen but before he does his friends (Michael Dudikoff, Barry Diamond, Gary Grossman, and Adrian Zmed) decide to throw a wild stag bash in the 1984 comedy Bachelor Party.

Then, Leigh McCloskey plays a dude so attractive he keeps getting kicked out of college for lude conduct with co-eds. In order to get his inheritance he must graduate, so he enrolls in Buster Burger University to learn the ins and outs of fast food. But strict drill sergeant Dick Butkus and a bevy of sexy babes (Randi Brooks, Debra Blee, Maria Richwine) won't make it easy in Hamburger: The Motion Picture from 1986.

And finally, Canadian sketch troupe Picnicface bring us a parody of roller disco movies in Roller Town from 2011 about an orphan roller enthusiast in love with a pretty roller girl and their quest to save their local roller rink from gangsters.

All this plus witty banter between friends, theme park wetness, 24-hour Sci-Fi marathons, Joe Bob Briggs, Grandpa Jim calls in, SxSW Film news, this week's blu-rays and so much more.

Prepare to be castrated in outer space, scumdogs! Junk Food Dinner is celebrating GWARch this year the only way we know how: with our good friend Travis Olgin of the world-famous GWARCast! It's a sleazy one.

Up first! Way back in the pre-9/11 days of yore, there was a movie called Heavyweights from 1995. A surprisingly high quotient of likable character actors (including Jerry Stiller), soon-to-be-famous comedic actors (like Kenan Thompson), and pre-fame super-scribes (Judd Apatow & Paul Feig), plus Skinny Weiner jokes pop up in this Disney-produced Ben Stiller kids movie about a fat camp. Don't worry about the title, it's just a single entendre.

Next up! It's GWAR's Jerry-Springer-esque talk show parody / simulated snuff film It's Sleazy, from the year 2000. Have you ever wanted to see a man chop off his skinny weiner on stage in front of a crowd of half-rate werewolfmen? We've got the video for you! Also: feat Slymenstra Hymen.

Finally! It's a third movie: American Hardcore: The History of American Punk Rock 1980-1986, which is exactly what the title suggests. Check it out for the Bad Brains, stick around for the unexpected Moby.

All this plus more GWAR chat than you can handle, cigarette violence, krazy kall-ins, a brand-new plea for your hard-earned dollars, bad parenting, embarassing admissions, the fear of god, our weekly news plus Blu-ray Picks and a whole lot more!
